Milestones
- Part of my 2nd Annual “Bike-A-Palooza” (SEE the Whole Trip)
Since my previous bike route was not going to work, I went to Plan “B”. I found a turnoff and parking lot along US-189 that leads to Wallsburg. It had a population of 250, was established in 1861.
- God used this 41.4 mile bike ride to remind me that, “There’s all kinds of beautiful”.
- I saw 12 horses, 24 cows, 1 wild turkey, 3 little girls walking home from church, and 100 grasshoppers (a.k.a. Mormon Crickets).
- After my ride, I was beat. I loaded my bike into the car, and went back to my campsite.
- It was in the hottest part of the afternoon, I was tired and sweaty. So, I took my shirt off, soaked it in the campsite water faucet (which was refreshingly cool), and wore a wet shirt in the breeze (“Caveman-air conditioning”). I repeated that 3 times, because my shirt kept drying out.
