I decided to start solo-camping because I wanted to strip away as much distraction and complexity as I could, even if just briefly and periodically. I enjoy being alone, in nature, feeling the joy of solitude. Solo-camping makes room in my self for reflection, listening to God, and removal from external pressures. In short, camping “decreates” me. After a few weeks not camping, I start craving time alone to reset and cultivate inner peace and strengthen my spiritual life.
